Wing Hall wins planning permission for site shop (October 29, 2007)
Wing, Rutland

Wing Hall has been granted planning permission to change the use of the 'State Rooms' in the main house to house the new Site Shop, to be developed for the Spring 2008 camping season.

The current shop at Wing Hall has outgrown the reception space which has housed it to date.  With added space available, a greater range of products will be available for sale.

The Site Manager, Wendy, commented:

'For some time now we have been asked for items which we have not been able to provide due to a lack of space.  This is a really exciting opportunity for us to add a valuable additional service to our guests.  In addition to the essentials we already stock, we're looking at expanding into locally produced food.

'We are sure there is a strong demand for a greater range and we hope that this will be yet another reason for people to chose Wing Hall.'

Although the shop will only be available to users of the site, there are hopes that a request to open the shop up to the local community may be successful, as Wing no longer has a shop or Post Office and there are a high number of older people in the village who do not have access to cars.
