- Barnsdale Gardens
Barnsdale Gardens were created by the BBC's Geoff Hamilton, who hosted the "Gardeners' World" programme for many years. The gardens were his pride and joy and are maintained as a site of interest open to the public, but also as a memorial to Geoff himself. Held each August, the Bird Fair is a draw for ornithologists and amateur enthusiasts from all over Europe. Wing Hall offers convenient camping and self-catering accommodation around the Bird fair and remains a popular destination and meeting point for people attending the fair. - Cycle Hire

Oakham Castle is a unique fortified hall in the centre of Oakham. Of significant historical interest, the Castle is a centre for the town and county and houses Rutland's famous collection of horseshoes. One of our favourite local pubs - like a step back in time to a gentler era, the Old White Hart is a perfect English pub. With petanque in the garden and excellent food at great prices - it's certainly deserves a visit! Highly recommended (approximately 10 minutes from Wing). - Rockingham Castle

The Dambuster Triathlon is held each June and, being a qualifier event for the World Championships, attracts the best Triathletes around. Focused around the Whitwell centre, this event is now famous given its stunning location and the level of competition on display.
